Trauma from a car wreck could cause internal bleeding

When a car wreck occurs, two things generally happen. First, you experience the force and impact of the collision. Second, adrenaline kicks in. When the adrenaline floods your system, you may not be fully aware of the severity of your injuries. In fact, it may take several days for you to start experiencing pain and discomfort from injuries that are not visible. This is the reason why it is vital that you receive medical attention immediately following a car accident with a negligent driver. At the very least, you should schedule an appointment with your local Kansas City physician within the following 24 hours.

Teen driver crosses center line, causes devastating crash

The car accident in today's source article occurred southeast of Lawrence, Kansas and involved three people. The wreck happened early Sunday evening on Sept. 3, when two cars were traveling in opposite directions on East 2200 Road. One of the drivers was 18 years old, and for some reason he drove his car across the center line. This led to a head-on collision with the other vehicle, being driven by a 19-year-old who had his 60-year-old father in the car as a passenger.

Motorcyclist hospitalized following crash with pickup truck

A 37-year-old man from Kansas was injured recently in Ellsworth County after his motorcycle crashed with a pickup truck that was hauling a trailer. The accident occurred on Interstate 70 around 7 p.m. with the vehicles being in the right lane. It appears that the pickup truck with the trailer was braking and the motorcycle collided with the trailer. The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet but he still needed to be hospitalized for the injuries he suffered.

Underride accidents with commercial trucks pose serious risk

Most drivers understand that it's important to use great caution when at the wheel. This is particularly true during periods of bad weather, when traveling at high speeds or when sharing the road with much larger (or smaller) vehicles. Collisions and crashes happen all the time, but deadly accidents and those that result in major injuries can often be prevented with adequate safety equipment and a considered approach to risk reduction behind the wheel.

House takes huge step forward for self-driving cars

The dawning of the self-driving vehicle revolution feels like it has been tantalizingly on the horizon for years and maybe even decades. And while it may still not be here yet, the U.S. House of Representatives took action today that could greatly accelerate the mass release of these vehicles onto U.S. roads, streets, and highways.
